Welcome to the Union Freshman Academy
The Union High School Freshman Academy builds a solid academic and social foundation on which Union students structure their goals and accomplishments in order to become productive and responsible citizens.
Engaged Freshmen
Life at Union Public Schools is more than just homework. Union believes a successful student is an engaged student and the district provides a wide variety of activities. More than 14,000 Union students are involved in some form of the arts and more than 1,600 students are involved in Union’s athletics and spirit programs.
Our Mission
The mission of the Union Freshman Academy is to empower students to embrace the challenges that come with the foundational first year of high school by providing an experience that intentionally transitions students from middle school to high school.
Our Vision
We envision each student in an inclusive environment that promotes student engagement while providing a safe atmosphere that enables students to strive for credit sufficiency in a setting that is functional as well as inspirational in the pursuit of 100% Graduation, College and Career Ready.
The Next Generation
It is vital that Union students begin their high school careers on a positive, successful note. We know that our freshmen have incredible potential and will go on to unparalleled academic, athletic, and artistic success.
Freshmen Drama
Drama classes are a popular elective. Freshmen work to perfect their speaking and acting skills in this program which offers numerous public presentations each year. Visit the Fine Arts page.
Union Intramurals
Union Intramural Sports provides students opportunities to participate in athletics at a recreational level in several sports. All Union students are allowed to participate regardless of their skill level.

Union Redhawks Girl's Basketball wrapped up their final scrimmage yesterday and are locked in for their Season Opener on December 3 at Westmoore.

Union Public Schools is aware of the national chatter about shutting down the National Department of Education, Union Superintendent Dr. John Federline told the PTA Council this morning, but at this point, it is just “talk.”

Union High School will host graduation for the Class of 2025 at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2025.
Union's Native American program will conduct public meetings concerning Indian student programs on Tuesday, November 12 at the Union 6th/7th Grade Center, 10100 E. 61st.

English Learners
Union provides English Learners a high-quality program, designed to assist students in learning English & to meet challenging state academic content & standards.
Early Childhood
Union provides a full-day, year-round program for eligible 3-year-olds, 4-year-olds and kindergarteners. Students learn language, fine arts, problem-solving and more.
STEM
Union offers a wide range of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math opportunities. Union was the 1st in Oklahoma, & among only a handful of districts nationwide, to offer STEM to students Pre-K through 12th grade.
Community Schools
Union's effective Community Schools model means increased attendance, reduced mobility, & improved academic success because of our partnerships.
Hope-Guidance-SEL
Union is a hope-centered district, using hope as a lens to guide our work. The goal is to foster greater confidence in students’ lives in a positive, affirming school environment.
