Welcome to the Union Freshman Academy

The Union High School Freshman Academy builds a solid academic and social foundation on which Union students structure their goals and accomplishments in order to become productive and responsible citizens.

Engaged Freshmen

Life at Union Public Schools is more than just homework. Union believes a successful student is an engaged student and the district provides a wide variety of activities. More than 14,000 Union students are involved in some form of the arts and more than 1,600 students are involved in Union’s athletics and spirit programs.

The mission of the Union Freshman Academy is to empower students to embrace the challenges that come with the foundational first year of high school by providing an experience that intentionally transitions students from middle school to high school.

We envision each student in an inclusive environment that promotes student engagement while providing a safe atmosphere that enables students to strive for credit sufficiency in a setting that is functional as well as inspirational in the pursuit of 100% Graduation, College and Career Ready.

The Next Generation

It is vital that Union students begin their high school careers on a positive, successful note. We know that our freshmen have incredible potential and will go on to unparalleled academic, athletic, and artistic success.

Freshmen Fine Arts

Classes in fine arts, including choir, drama and art, are a popular elective. Freshmen work to perfect their talents such as speaking or performing in front of others in this program which offers numerous public presentations each year. Visit the Fine Arts page.

Union Intramurals

Union Intramural Sports provides students opportunities to participate in athletics at a recreational level in several sports. All Union students are allowed to participate regardless of their skill level.

Academics are a priority. Union offers programs for students as young as 3 to adults. Union wants everyone to succeed.

Construction

Union’s construction program is all about giving students hands-on learning opportunities that help them make informed decisions about their future. The program is a great way for students to safely explore careers in construction, HVAC and electrical and earn industry certifications along the way.

Aerospace

Recognizing the need for a skilled workforce in the aerospace and aviation industry, Union is among a growing number of Oklahoma high schools offering aviation curriculum developed by the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA).

Early Childhood

Union provides a full-day, year-round program for eligible 3-year-olds, 4-year-olds and kindergarteners. Students learn language, fine arts, problem-solving and more.

EDGE

Union's EDGE program (Earn a Degree, Graduate Early) provides eligible students the opportunity to earn 60 college credits concurrently while attending high school.
